I never got the zucchini bread made on Friday afternoon, so I cleaned up the kitchen first thing on Saturday morning and laid out everything I could to make the bread. I’d be making 3 loaves, hopefully for the freezer.
I thought I was having a good day and was bound and determined to go to a tag sale here in town. But it didn’t start until 10AM and I needed bananas for the zucchini bread. So I headed out just after 8:30 to do a tiny shopping. It took 30 minutes, 10 minutes over my limit for being out and driving. I was okay to get home, but was getting tired.
I rested awhile and then headed out. I’d seen a sign for a second tag sale in town while out so I headed there first. It was farthest away. I got everything above except the jars and mug there for $5.
Then I went across town to the original tag sale. My best find was this box of paper for $7. I got home and everything into the house and put away.
The truck had been left in the driveway on Friday and was in the way. So I moved it back to the barn, walked up to the house, and raked up the hay mess. I hadn’t left a tote to move the mess, so there it sits.
By this time it was starting to get hot and humid again. I sat down on the couch to rest until lunch, and fell asleep. I always forget how exhausting driving is until the next time I try, months later.
I got the zucchini bread made mid afternoon but that was it for the day. Nothing much done outside, but I did accomplish things.
Sunday is supposed to be the last and the worst of the heat wave. I hope I will get up and go out to the garden and get something done before it gets awful. We’ve had cool nights for sleeping and the house cools down well, so it’s not bad inside. But I’ve really had enough of this awful heat and humidity.
