On Saturday we headed out to hit such tag sales as we had planned or would find in our travels. The first couple weren’t very good but then we hit a really nice one!
Top: pumpkin butter and laces from Vermont Country Store
Bottom: apron, linen dish towels
I’d found the apron for 75¢ at one of the first ones and got a whole pile of linen dish towels for $1 each.
Back: enamel coffee pot, oil lamp chimney, candle mold, lamp shade, and the shade for the standing lamp.
Front: 2 small oil lamps, 2 casseroles, canning jar tongs, Sloggers clogs
Also at this tag sale I got the enamel coffee pot for $8 and the wooden handled canning tongs for $1.
It was on the way back from the Vermont Country Store that we found some really good tag sales. It was late in the day, a very poor time for finding bargains, as they are snapped up in the morning usually.

The first one had 2 things I really wanted, but I was not paying $30 for an old but sturdy clothes dryer that mounts on the wall.

Nor was I paying $37 for one similar to this one, except it had legs under the adjustable bottom.
The next tag sale was in support of getting bikes to people. It was the end of the day and everything was ½ price. I got both casseroles for $2.50, the Sloggers clogs for $5.00 and they look new!
The next tag sale we hit the jackpot! check this out! I got this lamp for $20.00. It’s a little ornate for our style, but it’s so lovely I couldn’t leave it behind.
Look at the beautiful design in the shade.
This is the shade support. The lamp needs rewiring, but that’s an easy job.
The lamp weighs a LOT! We think this might be marble. It needs a bit of cleaning up and a leg needs repaired, but it’s a beautiful piece!
At the same tag sale I also got the oil lamp chimney, the lamp shade and the candle mold for $7.00.
The last tag sale was just closing up. I got the 2 tiny oil lamps. They had a whole box of my Memory Lane dishes, but none of the pieces I needed. He said he sold that box of odd pieces first thing. Sigh…
So we did pretty well up there in Vermont on our first day out really tag saling!
