Saturday morning I got out early and got this bed for the azalea cleaned out. I put some compost around it and dumped the 4½ totes of mixed mulch over by the steps.
Then I started on the 4th walkway in the New Herb garden. It was really humid and I wasn’t feeling real well, so I didn’t get very far. This hyssop was way out in the walkway, so I decided to give it a haircut and load dehydrators instead.
It only filled 4 trays so I went out and did more harvesting.
This time it was calendula and comfrey. I filled 1 Excalibur 9 tray and 5 more trays of the second one.
The broilers love the cool of the morning when they are let out of their coop. They are 2 months old this weekend. My husband keeps saying, “I think there’s another rooster out there.” Now we are in July and I expect we will find out soon, when they start crowing.
The pen is 2500 sq. ft. so lots of room to run and practice flying. We will be moving it to a new location on Monday morning.
Sunday I’d hoped to get more done in the New Herb garden but a bad night and high temperatures near 90F changed my mind. I guess I’ll just do laundry and clean my desk off.
