I had gotten the fire going in the woodstove on Saturday morning as it was cold and raining still. I ended up keeping it going until mid afternoon.
My general helper picked me up at 8:45AM and we headed out to the sale. It was already pretty packed when we got there. Of all the thousands of used books there, these were all I found. My helper got 6 books I think. She had found a Bill Bryson book called Fall River that neither of us knew about.
She asked to hang out at the house until after 12PM when she had to be somewhere. So I got her started on the paprikas while I updated my book inventory. We ended up with 5½ trays of them.
When she left I sat down with the Mitch Albom book and read all afternoon.
Mid afternoon the contractor was back for the first time since June. He got all the siding out of the woodshed and got it washed down. Then he got this much put up before dark. He will be back at the end of the week to get more done.
He had checked out the dining room floor which is still humped up. Neither of us has a good idea for it, besides starting to nail down sections. I want to avoid nailing if I can.
On Sunday I hope to get some more weeding done at the Little trees as the rain has stopped. In the afternoon, my neighbor is taking me to a lecture by Prof. Richard Little near where he found the armored mudballs. That ought to be fun!
