Ok, so I went a little crazy over our first snow. But it was so pretty, even before the sun was up. The first snow is always pretty; it’s the ones afterwards that aren’t appreciated.
Before sunrise when I looked out the back door with the light on I saw diamonds glistening in the snow. I didn’t know if my camera would capture them, but I tried anyways. There are some on the roof of the woodshed.
And I got a few more in the back yard.
Around 7AM I was going to go out to do the cats and realized I ought to clean the walks and steps before walking on them. Then I realized I ought to get pictures before walking around. So I started on the front porch and got this one of the New Herb garden and the wildflower area.
Then I looked south as the sun started to come up.
Then I walked out to get this photo of the wreath with snow and the light I keep on in my husband’s memory.

The magnolia and 2 fruit trees
Then I went and swept all the steps and walkways. The snow was light and fluffy and easy to sweep away.
Then I headed out to do the cats. I had some letters to mail and got this shot of the house on the way back.

Once the cats were fed, I got shots from around the barn.

Later in the morning my helpers remarked how pretty the snow was once the sun was up, so I went out and got a few more shots.

By this time the snow had come off the trees and was starting to melt. But this first snow is something to capture each year.
