On Monday morning when I pulled the shades up, I got an unexpected surprise. We’d gotten a couple inches of snow.
I’d had a bad night and not woken up until 8AM. I prefer to clean the walks and steps before anyone can walk on them. It prevents ice buildup. So I grabbed my broom and swept them off then went up and did chores.
As I walked around the house to each set of steps, I found lots of bunny tracks everywhere.
Hope you can see these, as white on white is not something my camera likes.
I finally got done, made breakfast, got fires going, and got ready to go to the Mom’s Night out. Two of the moms had backed out. I was being picked up at 11:30 by the one who shares my birthday, but is a year younger. I homeschooled one, she had 6.
We shared stories from the last 2 years since we had seen each other, on the way up. One of the other moms was already there and we had a great time sharing stories until the 4th arrived.
We’d decided on a Chinese restaurant but it was a good 1½ hours before we ordered. I had scallops with broccoli and rice as it was to serve as my birthday meal also.
We talked until 3PM when one of us realized she was late for something. The mom who drove me had re-gifted this amaryllis and I got it planted and in the window.
I had wanted some dessert and so I ordered some from a local restaurant once I was home as we’d not done any when we were out. I got a cream puff, a slice of plain cheesecake, and a brownie. Some was for Monday and some for my birthday.
I was able to watch videos and read until bedtime. It was a nice leisurely day. I’d hoped to get laundry done so I wouldn’t have to do it on my birthday, but I’d gotten up too late.
On Tuesday I’ll have to do laundry and I’ve been thinking about starting to take the trees down. I didn’t turn them on Monday, to sort of prep me for taking them down. Or maybe I will read…
