It snowed all night Friday night and this is what I saw when I pulled up the shades. It was still snowing but not hard.
The mesclun seedlings were coming up fast, not quite 48 hours after planting.
I left their dome on for another day until most were up.
When I went up to the barn for chores, the work Tom had done on the driveway on Friday paid off. The drive was easy. The snow was just starting to get heavy as the temperatures were rising. I was just able to sweep the front walk and steps, but it had gotten too heavy by the time I finished.
My son was going to have to shovel all of the rest.
I’d slept very poorly, not to bed until 10PM after all the excitement and then driven out of bed at midnight by leg pain. I spent the rest of the night in my chair, until 4AM when I got up. So I wasn’t moving very fast on Saturday.
I make a cup of tea each morning and sip it through the morning until it’s gone. I don’t mind cool tea.
Tom arrived mid morning to plow and he had a heck of a time. It turned to slush when the plow hit it.
This snow bank isn’t so much high as it’s pretty deep back to the pasture fence. There’s some pretty impressive ones up at the barn.
This stretch was the worst because of the neighbor’s trees and fence not allowing the sun to hit it. But Tom got it pretty much cleaned out in the end.
This stretch up to the road is easier as there’s more room to push snow into.
When Tom came over in the truck it was snowing so he had the lights on. Being an 1980’s truck, the lights don’t go off when you turn it off. He came in to visit for a while and when he left he had a nearly dead battery when he went out. But the car was right there and he soon had the truck started. The plan was a trickle charger over night when he got it home.
Not much happened all day, I read and slept and watched videos. To bed early in hopes of a good night’s sleep.
Sunday I hope to pick up where I left off and finish bills, get dishes done, and work on starting charts. Mt brother returns from his trip mid afternoon, so I don’t imagine I’ll get a lot done after that.
