The late February early sunshine in the dining room
Wednesday was forecast to maybe hit 50F during the day. It was sunny and nice. In 4 weeks time, the sun will come directly into the room, and not at such an angle, when the Spring Equinox arrives.
It was mild outside when I went up to feed the cats, my only barn chore these days. I had decided I could not stand the filthy windows in the living room any longer. I had not been able to clean them in the fall due to construction and missed the chance later on due to the chaos of life last year.
I had gotten all set up before I went out to do the cats and plant snowdrops. The supervisor was on the job. I planned to do the 2 west side ones first as they were the ones I looked out the most.
I took a break mid morning then tackled the east side ones. I had been told in no uncertain terms I was NOT putting the foam insulation around the windows, as I’d put too much around the windows in the 1st addition and they were hard to get out.
Well, guess who put even more too much and I had an awful time getting the windows out and back in. But I got 4 done and it’s so nice to look through clean glass to the gardens.
I found out midday that I am no longer in quarantine. Tom’s wife had a rapid test originally and then had a PCR test done. The PCR came back negative so the rapid had been a false positive. I am free! Not that I go anywhere anyways…
The old cat didn’t eat or drink much on Tuesday or Wednesday. She seems fine, just not eating, not at all like her. Have a call into the vet…
On Thursday the carpenter is back and I have someone coming out to quote pruning all the little trees. I’m hoping he can show me how to do it, and then, I can remember what he tells me…
It’s to be another sunny day but a little colder, upper 30’s F. I may tackle the 2 south windows in the living room, or maybe not… They are much larger than the side ones.
