On Saturday morning I was up at 4AM and got my post up. I got the kitchen cleaned up and then started work on the old TV from my son. I worked on seeing if would work. It turned on but had no remote and I couldn’t find buttons on it.
So I got out my old universal remote, but none of the old codes worked. So I went online for the manual and found some newer codes. I got it to turn on and off and found volume but couldn’t get the DVD player to show up. My brother helped me do this part.
Once I knew it might work, I had to clean it. It had been in the cellar for a few years. He had also put a lot of stickers on the front of it. They took a lot of GooGone and WD40 to get off.
Once the TV was cleaned up and set up, I went out and set up for our snacks. We had planned to have hot cacao and flavored popcorn. I had nutritional yeast, parmesan cheese, celery salt, green pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt and black pepper.
Then I went in and called my friend to tell her the TV was working, I hoped. I sat down for a while and by 11AM I was napping in my chair. I had hoped to spread some mulch in the Big garden but that wasn’t happening.
I got up and went to watch a Christmas movie but couldn’t get the captions to work and wanted to adjust the picture but couldn’t figure out how. So I had my son come up and show me that there were actually touch buttons, tiny ones, on the front, and then I got it set as well as I could.
By then I didn’t have enough time for the whole movie as I had to get ready for when she came at 2PM. She arrived just as I was finishing and we set about making hot cacao and the popcorn.
We got it started but couldn’t get the captions to work, so I got my son back to fix it. Once we had captions, we discovered that even though I had worked on the picture, it was hard to see and we ended up pulling half the shades in the living room before it was easy to watch.
We finally got settled into the movie at 2:30 and enjoyed seeing it. I was able to follow it much better this time with the captions and not sleeping through parts. We even sat and watched the special features. She left around 5:15PM and I finished watching the Christmas movie.
I cleaned up the kitchen, made some supper, and had to feed the cat. I realized when I did that I only had 4 days of food left for him. So I had to go place that order and I had another order to place. Once that was done I got the stoves going, and the rest of the shades pulled and was in bed by 8:30PM.
It had started to rain and it was pleasant going to sleep listening to the rain.
On Sunday it’s to warm up to nearly 50F so I hope to get out to spread mulch by late morning. I also hope finally finish the bills/budget in the morning.
