On Wednesday morning I wasn’t moving too fast. The roasters had worked well over the night and I combined them into one. I left it on low for most of the morning while I slowly got the kitchen cleaned up.
Then I ran the sauce through the blender and strainer and got it into 2 large stock pots to heat to a boil for canning. I got the kettles and jars from the cellar and discovered the second box of jars were wide mouth, not regular ones. I am out of regular mouth pint jars.
I got the kettles filled and heating up and when they had boiled 10 minutes I started loading jars.
The big kettle holds 14, the standard size 7. And that’s how many jars I had, only 21, instead of the 30+ I’d hoped for. I’ll have to do a second batch.
They all finished about 4PM and I was too tired to do another clean up. I’ll do it on Thursday.
I got a call late on Thursday afternoon from MassHealth telling me my health insurance had been cut off on Tuesday, instead of the appeal date of September 25. I couldn’t find out what this will mean in the future but I am supposing I no longer have my helper friend, among other things.
At 5PM my general helper came and we did some errands and then she got my goldy mum in the ground in the East of Steps garden.
On Thursday I have a lot of clean up to do. It’s to be a cool sunny day, but I expect I will be too wiped out to go outside. Not having the 12 hours of help each week is going to be very hard.
