So I checked the garden on Wednesday morning to see if the chuck had climbed the gate. I found the evidence, a stripped Jerusalem artichoke stem. So the carpenter said he’d bring his cage by.
I was laying down on the couch while the plumbers were doing their thing and I heard another voice. The carpenter was back. His wife, another avid gardener, had made him bring the cage right over.
So I put peanut butter on some bread and we set it out by the garden gate.
I went out later to get a photo of it for the blog and found it occupied. There were also 3 more blue jays crowded around, mad this one got the peanut butter and they didn’t.
I called the carpenter and told him he caught something, but it was blue. Then I went out, got photos and released the jay. At 7PM I’d not caught any more jays or anything else. I went to bed.
