I know you wouldn't know this unless you are one of a handful of people we told, but our really good wheelbarrow got stolen from our house in Ontario. That was along with our chainsaw, lawn mower, and some assorted furniture.
It was my favourite wheelbarrow. Ever. It was an Erie Contractor and cost about $200. Another great thing about it is that it came already assembled.
Well, we are a bit tighter with our money now, so when we saw a wheelbarrow at Canadian Tire on sale for $69.99 we jumped all over it. We have been hauling everything in plastic totes and five-gallon pails for a couple of years and it's getting tough.
This is how it came.
I got up excitedly this morning and tore into my new project. I didn't even wait for coffee.
How sweet is that? There aren't a ton of parts. This is going to be so simple.
(I just love it when things are simple.)
So, let's have a look at the instructions. I wonder how long it is before the coffee is ready?
Why do people have to always complicate things? There are like 10 parts. Just put them together and get this show on the road. We've got topsoil and compost to move.
(I never was good with algebra.)
So after a few minutes and some help from a neighbour, we were done. We had a brand new, Chinese wheelbarrow. It's not as nice as my Erie, and it's sort of hard to wheel around, but I don't mind doing a bit of extra work if it's going to save me $130.
Pretty nice, huh? It even has this cool new stabilization system that kind of flexes to accommodate rough terrain. Those little Chinese kids think of everything.
As you can probably tell, I love to construct things, which leads me to my favourite thing about this.
Lots of extra parts for my next project!
I think I might try to build an aquaponics system.
Oh good, the coffee is ready.
(I love my Sunday morning dates with Marilyn.)
**************three minutes later***************
(What have I done?)
You would think I'd know by now to not attempt anything more than making toast before I have a coffee in the morning. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Now where did I throw those instructions?
For this week, I'd like to nominate and
to join in the fun. You can find out more about it in the rules and in the round 14 post.
