I recently moved my seedlings from my living room and hardened them off a few days on my porch, bringing them in at night. Friday I moved everything to the greenhouse. The days are warm and the nights aren't freezing anymore. Even if it does get a little cold, they're in a greenhouse for Crup's sake. I didn't have them out there before because the greenhouse has no electricity running to it and so has no heat...plus it isn't exactly air tight so it doesn't hold a huge amount of heat.
My tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants hanging out on the front porch.
The cabbages I put out a few weeks ago are doing wonderfully!
These got moved outside as well. Peppers, thyme, ice plant (thanks again, ), and various flowers.
The eggplants and cucumbers have adjusted really well.
What's sad is I mixed up the tags for these tomato plants. Two are Rutgers and two are verisesomething. One kind is big, the other small. This will be fun to figure out which is which.
I also got my lettuce replanted (cold killed my first sowing), carrots planted and chives.
The back barrel has Little Gem lettuce, the middle barrel has chives, and the closest barrel has carrots, little short carrots that can be grown in containers and super rocky soils.
On Sunday I noticed the lettuces are already coming up!!
So that's it! The greenhouse is doing pretty damn wonderful! I'm really looking forward to caring for it this year and reaping the rewards. Gardening is such wonderful and cheap therapy, don't you think?
