One of the things I really love about living in the Philippines, besides all the beautiful smiles is the tropical fruits I had never heard of before. Now I have them growing on my small farm.
Marang
Artocarpus odoratissimus, also called terap, marang, johey oak, green pedalai, madang, tarap, or timadang, is a tree in the mulberry and fig family Moraceae. It is native to Borneo, Palawan, and Mindanao Island, and is closely related to the jackfruit, cempedak, and breadfruit trees which all belong to the same genus, Artocarpus. Wikipedia

A short video of the Marang
This is one of the most delicious fruits I have ever tasted. The outer layer comes off so easily and I really don’t know what to come pare it with in taste.
I went out this morning and took this shot of our 4 mature fruit bearing trees. The Marang trees are the trees towards the left with the very large leaves.

Thank you so much for your time! God bless!
