Homesteading with Michael David
Part 4 Images of Our Area
The image above is a pic I took. This is a spot I like to stop and lookout on the road going into our valley.
It's maybe 2 miles from my place.
When you're homesteading it's nice to have something beautiful to just stare at from time to time. This specific spot is a great spot for just that.
You may not see another person half the day on these roads.
This is my favorite view from a car on the roads we drive in and out.
Here is another decent angle of the lake in the winter.
Winter and early spring are the only times the valley is green lol.
This lake will not be here much longer. It was made hundred or so years ago by damming it up and they will be removing the dam soon.
Not sure if that will dry up things more than they are or not but I'm curious what the landscape will look like after.
The ground only drys up a little in the summer...
This is not an example of how bad it gets. This is actually fairly mild. When we moved here these cracks were up to 4-5 inches wide and just over a foot deep.
You could actually step in them and hurt yourself. We didn't walk around at night much.
We did walk through a field at night once and my daughter actually did fall in one and twister her leg.
I kept wondering what types of critters were living down in them lol.
Ok, that's all for today.
I have some more shots to share next week.
Thanks for reading.
