Currently we have four khaki campbell ducks.
We have one drake and three hens. A great ratio.
The thing about Free range ducks is that they are very covert in laying their eggs. They create a wonderful nest, meticulously put together.
You will get an occasional duck that just plops an egg out while walking.
In September I stumbled upon this masterpiece. I really felt bad about taking them, I marked 2 and left them so they lay more.
Which they did, but was feasted on by some critter other than myself.
Now that the cold weather is upon us, the laying has slowed down.
Hopefully this Spring we will centralize where they lay.
The nest was tucked in the grass at the bottom of the photo.
