Two very similar words, and many times we get confused between them and use one instead of another.
Expect is when we believe that something will happen.
Hope is when we do not know whether something will happen or not but we want it to happen.
Expectation is an assumption, whereas hope is the wish!
Expectation is limited to our previous experience whereas hope is open to future.
Hope allows us to grow whereas expectation affects how we see the world.
Whenever we expect something and if that doesn’t happen, it is painful. Less because things didn’t go your way, more because of the psychological obstacle that we have to overcome due to unmet expectation. Whereas hope is flexible, if something doesn’t go as hoped for, we can keep hoping for the thing to happen.
So, lets hope more and expect less!
