Well I’m a diehard food lover and have been chef for the last 15 years! Before Steemit I was Executive Chef for The St Regis Mauritius and just before that Executive Chef for The Westin Turtle Bay Mauritius, both very famous 5 star hotels for the Starwood/Marriott group of companies
I discovered Steemit In mid-June this year, while looking at my Facebook page, I saw Hive account@jerrybanfield’s post talking about Steemit! I just jumped in and spent the night looking for more info on this new social media platform, for me at least!
I was really surprised that such a great tool was not well known/used in my country and many part of the world too.The first few weeks were really hard as for anyone new joining Steemit! I felt lost in that huge ocean! This is the test period I would say!
The learning process you went through in order to become familiar with the Steemit Economy.
This learning process is still ongoing…Lol! As I said above, the first few weeks’ hardship made me go back and learn the bases of Steemit! It’s necessary to know the reason Steemit has been built, only then you can move forward on the platform.
Steemit made me leave Facebook, instagram and all other Social Media platforms which were consuming most of my time daily! Now my time spent on the net is being rewarded thanks to Steemit!
Giving back and adding value must be the backbone of any Steemians! I have launched a unique type of cooking contest named: Steemit Iron Chef which runs for a full year with amazing rewards for all those participating…weekly and yearly too!
With this contest, I am creating a big foodie community, where everyone is helping each other on their posts. We are just 2 weeks old and already 25 people already joined and more important they are all enjoying!
My advice to New Steemians is that :Be yourself, Be real, Be different and Be original.Steemit is not as easy as your friend must have described it to you. Don’t come here for only the reward side of it or else the experience will not be a good one and you’ll get discouraged soon!
