Imagine this: far away from the monotony of work and the chaos of hectic daily life, there's a place where you can simply "unplug" from everything and just relax. It's quiet, comfortable and secluded...somewhere where you can embrace the peacefullness and totally get lost in your thoughts. It may sound like a desert island dream but this sweet little escape does not require any visas, bookings or plane tickets. It may actually be inside your own home.
THIS IS THE BEAUTY OF A COZY READING CORNER.
Creating such place was very important to me as a busy mom, businesswoman and recently a blogger. Sometimes all I need is a few minutes alone snuggled in a comfortable armchair with a good book, magazine or my computer to surf my favourite interior design sites or Steemit Blogs and forget about the crazy, surrounding me, world.
A few weeks ago, I created this little cozy reading nook in my living room and it's immediately become my favourite place in the entire house. I'm actually sitting here right now and writing this post.
I love seeing things change so I've decided to show you how to make a cozy reading nook in your home thru a mini makeover.
Here are some tips:
Use a Window Seat
It not only provides a beautiful view but also a natural light.
Choose a place for sitting
it can be whatever is comfortable for you - a chair, an armchair, a sofa or even a whole bed.
Add a small side table
it's the perfect place to put your book or a cup of Cappuccino.
Include lights
as probably you will not only read by day but also by night
Add pillows and a blanket
on those cool mornings and evenings it's so nice to have a warm comfy blanket around your legs. A pillow will add a bit of extra comfort and of course a style too!
Decorations
Special touches can personalize your reading nook. It could be a painting, a display of your favourite book, a plant, or even a picture of your family. Whatever is special to you will make the corner special too.
Anyway, that's how it looks right now (including me). I hope I've inspired you with the ideas for your private little reading nooks. Or maybe you already have a spot where you like to read...? Let me know in the comments below.
Meanwhile, wishing you All The Best...
...I'm going back to finish reading my book now... :)
