It's entertaining to hear tradesmen talking about other tradesmen's work. Our plumber is here removing the old shower unit and fitting a new one. This is the remains of the previous tray which was glued directly to the floorboards and which he had to smash up with a lump hammer into tiny pieces in order to get it out. We had the same when he fitted new washing machine taps as well as when he sorted the piping under the sink. Everything is shocking - nobody else has pride in their work it seems I have no idea whether the violence expended on this porcelain was essential or it just made him feel good to be breaking up someone else's work and chatting to me about how bad it was. I don't care really. He's doing a good job for us and he's helped with all sorts of other things.
So now the new tray is in, that wall at the back is replastered and the tiles are up on the wall to the side. Just need the plaster to dry to tile over, grout it all, fit the shower and the cubicle and by Friday then maybe I'll be able to have a shower again! Fear not, there'll be no pictures from inside the cubicle :)
