Hey Steemians!!
If you're reading this. You must know how awesome the Steem blockchain and platforms like Steemit, Dtube, Utopian.io actually are. New as the platform is, Steem has proven to be wildly successful as a platform that does what it set out to do. Decentralizing and Tokenizing the Social Media. If you are the type who wants to "make a living off the internet", Why arent you on Steem already!
But, Did you know that, like Steem, There are a few projects out there that allows you to make some spare change using the Blockchain technology?
Yeah!!
Preface: Now, there are many other platforms out there that I'm paying close attention to than just this 3. But these 3 are what works. I guess I'll not talk about upcoming projects that has no products yet to make this post unbiased to my title.
Here are 3 other platforms you can do the same thing!
1. Earn.com
This has an interesting story. Earn.com (originally 21.co, named after 21 million - the theorethical bitcoin hard cap) was founded by Balaji S. Srinivasan, pretty much a rockstar in the crypto-venture space. Who envisioned a world where everyone can earn Bitcoin by completing microtasks, like reading emails or answering surveys.
The idea behind the platform is that basically one can pay another person to open an email. Note the word "open". Because the money is untouched should the recipient treat it as spam. Makes senders really think twice before mass-sending messages eh.
What that means is your email address (specifically, your earn.com email address) becomes a real estate per your real world reputation! You can set the price of your "email time worth" by allowing people to only pay you a certain amoutnt if they want to email you. And people can pay you in Bitcoin to open a mail they send to you!
And of course I put this as number 1 because IT WORKS! If you wanna look at my profile (or send me a mail I will DEFINITELY read), go ahead to earn.com/kristiankho to do it!
Fun Fact: Marc Andreeseen, (YES!! THAT Marc Andreeseen!!!!!) sets his inbox at $100 so you can literally reach him like right now. Though this amount is donated to a charity, which is an option in earn.com too!
2. Sola
This is something that shows huge potential in terms of it's idea.
"Sola doesn’t use the concept of following. It spreads information like a viral disease to the most interested users, applying AI algorithms combined with users reactions. Quality content can easily reach the whole Sola user base. Users post news, stories and entertainment cards, Sola takes care of the rest."
-- from their website.
From an interview with a news post, the creator of the platform explains the rationale behind Sola:
“There are many people on different social media websites who have thousands of followers and they are ruling the platforms, leaving newcomers or smaller users often unnoticed. Sola gives everybody the ability to reach large audiences. Everyone can see each other’s posts and the only thing that matters is the quality of the content. If the user’s content is great, it is most likely endorsed by others, and will create more revenue.”
Basically it means every post you made in there is fully dependent on the virality and quality of the content. Imagine Dmania but with AI algorithm and no whales. How much you make is dependent how viral your post becomes. It is still a work in progress. The site works but the developers has promised HUGE upgrades and features in the coming months.
Wanna challenge who viral you can get? try this.
3. Wildspark(Synereo)
So Synereo's tagline is "Publish Anywhere, Monetize with Synereo". That sounds interesting! After a shallow dive into the platform and whitepapar, I think I get their drift.
Wildspark is the first app they release to get things going. It is meant to be an extension (currently only working on Chrome) that works when one goes to a Social Media (imagine using Wildspark for a Dtube video...) where people can tip authors and curators for the content they create/curate. Kinda like a 3rd party tipping system.
So it's not exactly a platform, as they don't host any content. But rather a mechanism for tipping. I say tipping because, well... They money comes out of your own pocket. So Steem is definitely more superior in that regards. Cognitive Cost Hindrance might be a huge hindrance to mass-adoption in the future for Synereo. But hey, works great for content creators!!
So Wildspark currently supports only Youtube, Medium, and Imgur. So it's one way content creators can make some crypto without jumping to literally to Dtube, Steemit and Dmania.
So there you have it!!!
3 platforms you can literally sign up right now and earn em coins!!! Steem has released that pandora's box of tokenized/decentralized Social Media when Steemit.com was released. This is what Social Media is going towards guys. This is how content will be handled. No need for big centralized Data Mining sites like Fakebook and BooTube. No need for middleman like publishing houses or music agencies. And all with The Steem Blockchain leading the way.
"Even if you don't make big bucks on Steem today, you're all already winners in the history of Decentralized Social Media" --
