How I keep gaming from being getting boring is to set challenges for myself from time to time.
Todays Challenge was to build a real starter home to go along with Cop and his Cat Globo Waves.
This meant I had only 20,000$ to work with. I also had to keep in mind that Cop was going to need money when I started playing the game. With that in mind, I gave myself a budget of 18,000$ to build an Awesome starter home.
Things to keep in mind when building on a small budget:
Buy the cheapest and smallest piece of land to build on.
With a small lot size, you don't end up with too much empty space begging to be filled.
Your monthly bills will be cheaper from not having to pay larger land tax. Helpful when starting a new Sim.
Make sure when building you read the fine print.
The photo below shows a single bed from the Camping Pack. It's cute but not normally what you would put in a house except it offers 1 level of stress relief. Having 1 level of stress relief will mean your Sim will be happier and also you will not have to buy a new bed so soon.
This next photo shows the same kind of bed. It being a double size means if you are married or going to get married soon you don't have to worry about spending more money on a bed just to have a new Sim come live with you. It also has 1 level of stress relief and only costs 30.00$ more.
Most categories list products from the cheapest to the most expensive but as you saw above it is worth looking over everything so you get the best item for the most reasonable price.
With that in mind, I built the house in the video above. For those not able to watch here are a few screenshots of the final house.
