My oh my oh My here we are in June already!!!
I Powered Up 200 Hive in honour of the event, only a little Power Up as it's a good time to keep some funds liquid with the markets looking lively! That recent Dippity Dip encouraged me to Power Up a little more!
Account growth = 2000 Hive Power more than this time last month, honestly it's relatively easy to add this amount every month once you're above 100K HP...
KE drama...
This is getting to be something of a major talking point on Hive....
You may have seen some posts floating around about the KE ratio.
Obviously everyone can choose to do what they like with the rewards they receive from others here on the Hive blockchain.
The KE ratio shows us how much of those rewards are Powered Up.
I personally think if you're earning decent money from this Chain, you should power some back up, at least say 35%, that's just respectful to the hand that feeds and the rest of us who are able to give you those rewards.
Some people choose to cash out the majority of their rewards rather than Powering Up. If you do that you could face a problem....
Those of us who choose to Power Up can more effectively remove the rewards of anyone, and if we decide to selectively remove the rewards of those with low KE that's basically tough.
NB I don't downvote people just for having low KE, I just don't upvote them as a general rule.
I won't go into the benefits of Powering Up, they are just obvious to my mind: long term Vest, reducing sell pressure on the token and all that.
Extreme illogic deriving from miss-applied concepts...
One bat shit crazy has been trying to argue DVing users with a low KE ratio is like colonialism and a form of censorship.
The problem with this is...
1, You've effectively migrated to this chain - the chain hasn't invaded your space. Thus it's literally a completely different thing to a colonial dynamic, there is no valid comparison to be made. The concept simply doesn't apply here.
- If you're worried about censorship, presumably you're worried about visibility, in which case go blog somewhere else... Hive is relatively invisible because of its terrible SEO. And removing rewards isn't censorship.
Some people just need to take a bit of time offline and calm down IMO. In this case that'd be a win for us all.
NB I will say on this that Hive is here doing a public service. Presumably that individual is as bat-shit crazy in her daily life, we've taken some of her attention, which means whoever she interacts with F2F has had LESS of her battiness for a while.
Who new that Hive would evolve to provide such a form of respite for real peoples, whoever works with her, you are welcome!
Other stuff on May in Hive...
Splinterlands Arcana was released, or was that April? It seems like an age ago anyways, and the prices of midnight potions have come down. It goes to show what a bubble people are in, with some people thinking potions would sell for more than what they did.
The market simply isn't that large and all the whales produce enough for themselves, I think I pretty much maxed out my profit selling early and then halving aura production once it became less lucrative than Stone.
HiveFest was also announced recently, looks like it's gonna be a good one, I am tempted, but Fam duties mean I will probably have to stay in the UK.
Overall I'm still happy to be here and still stacking, and conserving my KE!
