I did not want to blog about politics during the "peaceful protests" last week; So I put off the essay project until today.
As I expected, It appears that the collective consensus after protests is that we need a bigger government to bear down on the the throats of the people.
I don't like participating in protests because every protest ends in the same call for bigger government and less liberty.
IMHO, divisive politics does not lead to good solutions.
So, what would work?
I believe that discourse followed by deliberative action is the best path forward.
I have a long standing history in health care reform.
A long time ago I asked the question: How does one create a better health care system?
I believe that one should start by analyzing the current system.
A good way to analyze the health care system is to examine the flow of money through the system. I used to work for a state owned insurance company.
In the US we see that money flows from from big insurance companies to big health care providers. In nations with nationalized care, we see that the money flows from big government to big health care.
The health care system aligns to the flow of money through the system. Health care in the United States aligns with corporate interests. Health care in socialized countries aligns with political interests.
The system does not align with the health needs of individual people.
The response to COVID19 in both the US and abroad was force people apart and close down private businesses.
This response was both costly and it failed to provide people with the care they needed.
Since health care aligns with the flow of money; I believe that the best way to improve health care is to change the flow of money.
If the money for health care flowed from individuals; we would see a complete change in the system.
It would be possible to create a system that changed the flow of money in health care. I would love to show people how to do it. The system could use blockchain technology. Quite frankly, I don't think the system needs to be as complicated as HIVE, but it would take a few hundred hours of hard work to create the new system.
I really wish that there were people on the planet brave enough to discuss free market health care reform. Everyone I know on the left and right are intellectual cowards who are completely unwilling to discuss true reform.
Anyway, I think the protests have subsided. In 30 years I haven't met a single person brave enough to discuss free market health care reform.
So, I will get back to writing my articles on political history and how the pundits on both the left and right dupe the people into thinking that politics and centralization is the solution to the problems caused by excessive centralization. I will restart the Two Sides of the Coin Essays #tsoc after I take my daily walk.
The theme of the TSOC essays is that the left and right were created by the monarchy with the goal of ending the American experiment in self rule. The left and right keep the people divided by things like COVID19 and the protests while the centralized state grows without bounds.
