Let me translate that for you;
We impose restrictions & sanctions, because we did not like the outcome of previous negotiations and not having the upper hand playing by international rules and trade laws , so we make up "security issues" in order to try and gain the upper hand for future negotiations.

Think it is an exaggeration or far fetched? Here's a historic first of it's kind court ruling from the World Trade Organization on how Russia managed to PROVE that the current Ukraine is in actuality a threat to their national security. Based on the case put forward by Russia for invoking article 21 (SECURITY EXCEPTIONS), the courts ruled that there is indeed sufficient evidence and thus the trade restrictions which actually go against WTO rules, were in fact justifiable. The reasons for this first ever ruling, were "emergency in international relations that is very close to the 'hard core' of war or armed conflict."

The "national security" restrictions by the US have not only been imposed on China. The Trump Admin. has used "national security" as reason for steel and aluminum tariffs imposed on the EU.
What kind of war or armed conflict is going on between the US and China, or the US and EU? What kind of emergency is there involving Huawei or steel/aluminum? Even by the US' own logic, that Huawei is a "security threat", what kind of "threat" is this and what court on earth will indeed see it as one, especially since the Trump Admin. publicly stated that Huawei could again be negotiated over in regards to lifting restrictions.

More astoundingly, "national security" was the same reason used for imposing those same steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico, which te US as of now completely abandoned, now that they have a deal.

All of the above, does not only weaken their case, but as a matter of fact; There is no case. This is not about "national security" or "terrorism" or "regimes" whatever facade they propagate in the United States and repeat 1.000.000 times hoping it will catch on and be believed.
This is, as stated before, all about deals and wanting the upper hand during the negotiation of those deals, and if China and the EU stand their ground and take this all the way to court, there is no court in this world that would rule against them.
