Is the first command of God about a literal fruit?? If not-what is it about?
Searching for the meaning of your life? In God's own Words, we are created to respect and obey His commandments. (paraphrased Ecc 12:13)
Why would we obey God? What good can come out of it?
Actually the benefits are innumerable. Let me try to pick some among them in an attempt to encourage you to take the first step towards that direction and to give you the reason to continue in doing so.
Let us think for a moment about a life that is spent to death without regards to God or His will.
- Born
- Spent childhood playing and studying some things.
- Spent teen years attending school and doing things teens usually do.
- Took College-University-Masters-Doctorate
- Got a very good job at a prominent institution-got rich and famous.
- Done something great and was awarded some worldwide recognition
- Grew old
- Got sick
- Died
How about yours? You will eventuall fill in the blanks of the story of your life...Let me start- You were born, _____, ______, ______, _______, _______, ______, _______, then you will die at this point. How will you fill in the blanks? What efforts will you exert to improve the details? What about the person you love so much? When do you like him or her to die? If you will be given a way, a chance, and the capacity to eliminate the death of your loved ones, what would you do? Life, our life is given to us and obeying God will enable us to be reconnected to the source of that life. Once we are reconnected with the source of Life, dying will be an absurd idea.
Maybe getting life because of obedience is too lofty of an idea. Would you settle for peace of mind instead?
Observe the people, observe the religious people who are fanatically obeying their false faiths. Do you see contentment? Yes, it is true. Obedience..even to the wrong teachings/commands bring peace of mind. Now consider if you can obey the real commands? Think how much more peace of mind will that provide if you can do, God's true will. How peaceful can you get? It is the kind of peace that no amount of threat can break. Your peace will be a shield that will protect you and your loved ones from the anxieties of this world that gobble every person that are running this rat race we call life.
Actually even without any additional promise of things that we can gain out of obedience to God's commands, to be able to live our life correctly, is in itself ENOUGH benefit for us. It is not so different when we are reading the user's manual of our new gadget or tools, we don't ask anyone what gifts will we receive if we adhere to the provided
information on THE PROPER USE of the product we bought. That will be awkward and out of line, right?
Yet, there is so much promise embedded in God's covenant...like added bonuses to an already sweet deal.
If you believe that God exist. The next logical and the most intelligent move is to obey Him. I don't claim that this whole affair is easy. It is hard, it is made even harder by the fact that there are opposing forces to contend with, when you do try to obey God. Inspite of these, it is worthwhile to persevere.
Wait! Who or which God are we speaking about?! Human problems. First we have to overcome the hurdle if God exist and then, when we are over that, we are hit on the face with the question WHO IS THE REAL GOD? There are millions of them gods! I understand that many people can be confused about this. Let me clarify first a seemingly unrelated issue that is usually taught to many people. EQUALITY.
EQUAL, EQUALITY is a human idea that we use to signify things that are actually JUST SIMPLY SIMILAR. Because no two things, EVER will be equal. Consider this; is 1 EQUAL TO 1?? We have created programming languages and mathematical formulas using this sign (=) to denote equality. But in reality 1 is not even equal to 1. Why? Because these two are just similar. They can never be equal. I am speaking about ABSOLUTE EQUALITY ON ALL ASPECTS here. If two things have some aspects that are different between them, can we claim them to be equal? If even one aspect or attribute is different about each other, we have to accept the fact that those two things are indeed DIFFERENT, similar maybe but not EQUAL. Why, what is the difference between 1 and 1? There are at least 2 differences between them. That is time and place. Do you understand what I am saying? The first number 1
occupies the location that is NOT OCCUPIED by the second number 1. AND the time I typed the first number is different from the time I typed the second number. Therefore in the coordinates of * TIME AND SPACE * nothing, absolutely nothing can ever be equal.
What is the relevance of that mind bending fact about the issue of WHO THE REAL GOD IS? While people from different parts of the world may claim there are MANY gods, there will be only one, who will deserve to be OBEYED. Because there can never be EQUAL gods. It makes our search easy doesn't it? We only have to look for that ONE. The true God, the real God who will never lose against anyone else THE GOD OF THE GODS. Do I mean that there are really many gods? Yes. There are many gods. Let me explain. In the beginning, when the God who have no beginning and end, was the only life existing. * Everything is God and God is everything. * Where will the next person come when He creates the very first living creation? From Him of course...and what will you call a person that came from God? Will he posses the part of God? Sure! This new person created by God is from God and therefore carries with him a PIECE OF GOD HIMSELF, because God is the origin of everything. So every life forms that God will create is a part of God. If that life form is given some power and good looks, they might be CALLED GODS by other life forms who does not have what they have and are actually lesser in power and appearance than them.
God created many life forms in His service, we usually know them as angels and in some point in time in the past some of these powerful angels CHOSE to disobey God's will and went down to Earth to experience human life and take women as their wives(sexually mating with them). To the eyes of the regular human beings, these angels in human form are gods! They are beautiful, powerful and they know so much that they don't know. (Genesis 6)
That is how many of the present day gods came to be. Are they to be obeyed? No. So, we will concentrate our efforts to discover the real God and His commands. HE is the only one that deserve our worship. Where is He? Why haven't we seen or heard Him personally? If He is real, we should have experienced Him personally for even once right? He should have solved the glaring troubles of humankind by now, right? Or better yet, if He be the real God, He should have prevented these problems from happening in the first place. Duh. A lot of questions! I will tackle every single one of them, one by one. For the moment, let me call Him, God of Abraham. I am not asking you to accept that God without reasonable proof. instead I am inviting you to examine the proofs with me. Like I said from a post before, one of the reason why I believe in Him is because of His laws. Bit by bit I would like you to understand why I believe that Abraham's God is the real God by considering His laws and their intended effects comparing them to the human made laws and their actual effects.
What was God's first command for humankind?
*** "He told him, "You may eat the fruit of any tree in the garden, except the tree that gives knowledge of what is good and what is bad. You must not eat the fruit of that tree; if you do, you will die the same day."*** (Genesis 2:16,17)
What is that about? Why would God let a tree with negative effect to humans, grow and bear fruit in the middle of the Garden that He made and then prohibit His created humans in eating the fruit because of the reason of DEATH!? Mind boggling. That is until you understand it. You see, the word "tree" and "fruit" are used in God's word to refer to His living creations like humans and angels that has stayed in its position or place for an extended period of time(examples can be found at Psalms 52:8 and Jeremiah 17:8). Like literal trees do. The prohibition is actually a warning against having sex with an angel(cherub in rank) who were on earth long before humans were created(the reason why he is likened to a tree and his actions to the fruit). (Ezekiel 28:13-15)
Before this commandment, there were no talks about "death" whatsoever, humankind was created with unending life, UNLESS. That condition that can end the continous life of humankind is DISOBEDIENCE. They have a single NEGATIVE(do not do) command to obey and they failed miserably. Why was the command very important? And what is the proof that it is not a simple, literal fruit that is prohibited from being eaten that instead it is the carnal or sexual relation with an angel?
That first commandment was critical, why?
It is the first negative command(negative as in do not do** -something that needs discipline to be able to comply with and would produce a sense of deprivation if thought about)
It puts the very existence of mankind on the line.
- It will prove the respect and obedience of the first humans to their Benefactor/Creator.
- It will affect the future of all generations of humankind.
With regards to the proof that it is sexual in nature can be understood when we read the declaration of punishments after the disobedience.
In Genesis 3:6,7 we can read that right after eating; their "eyes" were "opened" and realize they were naked. It is important to note that before this incident, they have done many things, and so have been naked the whole time..this only means that the "eating of the fruit" gave the first human "malice" on their nakedness. Is malice of being naked sexual in nature? Yes.
When declaring the punishment for both sides we can read:* "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." *(Gen.3:15) How do we understand the word "seed" here? Are they fruit seed? No, they are offsprings, sons and daughters of the 2 offending parties of humans and the "serpent" (which is actually used by the cherub, therefore the cherubs offsprings). Speaking about judgements of offsprings, is it related to sex? Yes, because sex is the process to bear offsprings.
And when God declared the punishment for the first woman: * "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." * - (Gen. 3:16)Every punishment detail here is sexual. Not GASTROINTESTINAL.
The last clue can be found from Adam's words:* "20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; * because she was the mother of all living. * " -(Gen 16:20) Eve is called the MOTHER of ALL LIVING(humankind after them) while Adam is not called the FATHER of ALL humankind. Why?? Because, the cherub will have a share in the generations of humans to come. Is this so? What proof do we have? Here: * "And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground." * -(Gen.4:1,2) Please notice the word KNEW, it is the word to denote
that a man had sexual intercourse with the woman mentioned. Examine HOW MANY TIMES did Adam KNEW, Eve. It is only once. Now take note of HOW MAY TIMES, Eve gave birth. TWO TIMES! Were, the two sons twins? No.The situation is called * SUPERFETATION or SUPERFECUNDATION * (see these articles with similar cases: http://time.com/3851843/twins-complications/, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2010005/Woman-gives-birth-babies-day-NOT-twins.html) It means that Eve got pregnant from having sex with a fallen angel(cherub) and her husband Adam. Resulting to Abel and Cain. In that particular pregnancy of Eve, this also explains why despite her knowledge that they were punished by God, she said that she bore a son with the help of god(a god) which was how she would see a magnificent manifestation of a powerful angel having sex with her.
I know that these can be so much to digest at the moment, please do not rush. Read and reread the passages again, I trust that you will find that the truth is fascinating and it can even shock if it is not how we expect things to be.
Thats' what happened because of DISOBEDIENCE. They lost their continous life, so we also die now, we who are their "offsprings", they have to have clothes after that, so do we. It just means being naked is better. Living has become a struggle instead of a joy. Before their disobedience and punishment, they don't have to support their life, the are DIRECTLY CONNECTED to the source of life which is God. Disobedience severed that connection and like a rechargable battery that is removed from the mains and charger, they will eventually lose their life. The scene also explained that sex is not bad in itself, it has it's proper place. That was actually the first POSITIVE COMMAND (to do)to be "fruitful and multiply" (Gen 1:28) You see?! The first POSITIVE and NEGATIVE commands are both regarding sex.
DISOBEDIENCE caused the loss of the chance to live continously, so OBEDIENCE will restore that chance. That's the biggest reason why we should keep learning God's commands and obey them.
The truth is fascinating don't you agree? And it is stranger than fiction. I am sure many of you who are raised as Christians" were not taught about this. This is a good time to start really learning God's true word. Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to grow in knowledge. -east
