When would you like to die? Actually the harder question might be; When would you like YOUR LOVED ONES DIE?
Why is dying so horrifying that we neither want us nor our loved ones to die? We have discussed the WHY of dying, now we would explore what happens when we die.
To understand death better, we must consider first how we became "alive". In God's narrative through Moses, the process is described as follows: "7 Then the Lord God took some soil from the ground and formed a man out of it; he breathed life-giving breath into his nostrils and the man began to live." Gen 2:7 GNT
As described above, we became alive by the will of God, who formed us from the ground and gave it the breath of life. This is a very special event. Why is the creation of man special? We have to read the conversation of God with His other intelligent creations before this moment to have a clue. Then God said, "And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small." Gen 1 :26 GNT
In God's own words, describing the soon to be created "human beings" as "will be LIKE GOD and His angels". Humans will have power over fish, birds and all other animals. In short God intends human to be obeyed by these other creatures, to reign supreme over ALL earthly life forms except his fellowmen. Which means we are not created nor meant to rule over other people. Instead we are designed to dominate all other earthly life forms. Both of which are not being done at the moment. (Instead we try to dominate other people and endanger all other life forms instead of taking care of them.)
Upon creation, when God is making humanity ALIVE, what was done? There were 2 ingredients: Earth and Breath of Life. Together they constitute a living creature. Mankind. Two ingredients that resulted in one final product. This is comparable to having water and flour that will finally be made into bread. No one will call the flour nor the water as bread in their raw forms, but mix them and let them pass the whole process of bread making, then and only then you finally get a bread.
Mankind is a SPECIAL CREATION
Therefore Mankind is special. We are inherently special. God who cannot be forced to consider anything, considered and announced making mankind. To be thought of by the MOST POWERFUL is a sign of being special. It is like being mentioned out of the blue by the President of the US (a relatively powerful man) in one of his public addresses. The probable reaction of those close to the president would be: Who is that? Why would the president suddenly mention him??!
What other proof is there that we are special? One of which is the manner of which mankind was created. Have you thought about the whole creation event? If you would review Genesis Chapter 1, you will notice that all other creations were created simply by SPEAKING THE WORD. Yes, God is so powerful that He created many things by His will and His words alone. Like "LET THERE BE LIGHT!" and there was light. Made into being. Made to exist. God made all other succeeding creations in a similar fashion. Except for mankind.
When God decided and announced His will to create Mankind, He took the time to get earth, He took the time to form it, and actually breath into it, the breath of life. While there is nothing to hold Him back to create man by merely saying: "Let man be created male and female", after all He have created much bigger things before, He created living things before and everything in between. So why take the trouble of making MAN the way He did? It is for the simple reason that mankind is special.
For the first time, God made into existence an intelligent creature that is a mix of the SPIRITUAL and the PHYSICAL. A creature that is both durable and fragile. Something that GROWS. Something that is very similar to Him and have the ability to enjoy and dominate the PHYSICAL side of creation. A creature that is intelligent and have a CHOICE so that it would be AN HONOR TO BE WORSHIPPED BY them.
In fact we are so special, that a powerful Cherub was intimidated and eventually got jealous. Though this Cherubim is actually unnamed, people usually call him "satan" or "devil" which are common names. Anyway, this Cherub used a serpent in the Garden of Eden to make Adam and Eve be disobedient to the single negative command of God for them that resulted in death.
Now, having understood the underlying principles and special reasons why we are alive. We can now appreciate the grim reality of death. Death is the separation of the Breath of Life from the physical earthly body. We can read in Ecclesiastes 12:7 This very thing: "and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." --This means that at the moment of death, the breath of life that God gave, for us to live, returns to God, it does not matter if the person who died is "evil" or "good" to the eyes of the community he belongs, the breath of life will always return to God. His body will start to decay, eventually turning into the soil it was made from. The person we once knew is now NON-EXISTENT.
"Hey! What about fiery hell, purgatory, heaven and all that!?" Who said about that? The religious teachers? I am sorry you were scammed too. Better do a soft fork now. Because misinformation regarding God abound at the moment. Teachings about the dead included. They are used to gain control over the pious and to amass great wealth. Heck they are even inserted in the so called "New Testament". If God said in Genesis to Eve, "Because you did not obey me, I will change your state at the moment of death and burn you in hell for eternity!" - then we can consider those teachings to carry some more weight. According to God, the dead does not exist. They ceased living. They are not living in the physical plane nor in the spiritual plane. The dead cannot influence the matters of the living or the dead. The dead KNOW NOTHING. Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten."
We can prove this fact because even the most gruesome crime of murders and homicide go unsolved because the dead victims can't even inform their relatives about who the criminals are and where to find them. For example: There was a relatively wealthy and influential man who was assasinated upon exit from the plane that took him home from a long exile. He fell from the top of the stairs and there he lied on the tarmac, dead. Eventually his wife and son became the presidents of that nation and never even solved the case. Which if the assasinated can at least communicate with his loved ones this kind of crimes would be easy to solve.
What about the ghosts and the mediums? They are the evil spirits, the sons of the fallen angels whose spirits roam the earth waiting for God's judgment upon them. They can know about the dead person you are interested in and may pose as the dead person's ghost, be very careful inviting them into your lives, because they may never leave. Remember dead people DONT KNOW ANYTHING. They don't know how to speak to you, they don't know how to interact with you. Therefore if there is something interacting with you, claiming it is your loved one's spirit, it only means you are being a target of an evil spirit. You are opening the door where they can enter your life by calling upon them.
Death is God's punishment to Adam and Eve when they disobeyed Him, it is not a door that will lead to a better existence. It is our loss of LIFE. The question now is: Is there hope once we die? Can dead people live again?
