What is needed in our societies for each generation to grow and prosper?
breathe in the the air of knowledge and healthy ideas
planted in the soil of healthy schools and welcoming communities
receivers of the light of cultural integrity and pride in ourselves
growth within a human ecology that has resources and mental nutrients for all
As all life on this earth, we need the correct conditions to grow into healthy adults. Our society is choosing resource scarcity because we use non-renewable substances for energy and basic materials. But if we chose a different route, there would be ample supplies for all, even the 10 billion people that are soon anticipated. But if we choose not to provide opportunity and education to them, what kind of world can we expect?
Life is very short, we have so much to learn in a brief time. If children aren't surrounded by the messages, the resources, and the love they need, than society will continue to devolve in back-biting, gossip, finger-pointing, and irate and irrational behavior on a global scale.
Humans are just like any other living thing... seeds of genetic information scattered in the wind, across the land, over the waves. If we don't provide healthy places to grow, our civilization will end up deformed and diseased.
