The driver of the semi-trailer that hit the Humboldt Broncos, Saskatchewan junior hockey team, will be charged with dangerous driving.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested him at his home in Calgary, Alberta, about 10 am on Friday morning for an accident that left 16 dead and 13 injured last April.
The 29-year-old will face 16 counts of dangerous driving causing death and 13 counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
He will be appearing in the Saskatchewan Superior Court next week.
On April 6, the Humboldt Broncos were decimated when the crew bus was hit by a truck trailer at the intersection of Highways 35 and 335 in Saskatchewan.
