Sam Altman, head of OpenAI's narrative on artificial intelligence progress expressed his fears about ChatGPT during interviews with the press...
But his fears were not really about the ai tools themselves (neutered language model fragments), but rather about the people that may take power from the elite and actually be liberated from all kinds of problems they face daily.
Alas, what fearful and frightening things have actually come to pass, oh prophet magician Sam?
People prove Sam Altman is a fearmonger, pushing narratives of the government
-- To bat, people have not only saved time in their daily work lives, some have completed a number of personal projects, fought in court and won thanks to ai tools and much more. AutoGPT came about from super simple operations using leaked Llama models from Facebook -- and the results have been nothing short of amazing.
...So, where are the cobwebs and terrors, Sam Altman???
But Sam Altman, the fear monger and gatekeeper of the current "best in class" language model - insists that it must be controlled carefully and released slowly. Why?
To ensure the "island" scenario plays out. This is why.
The isolated ruling classes imagined a scenario where they could develop a sufficiently advanced algorithmic model that they could shape and curate to their desires "safely". On the island, only they have access to the best and greatest LLMs and other tools. After having their cake, they would belatedly send off little neutered versions of these models. Of course, heavily modified to serve their interests and defend them vehemently. These neutered models would make their way into the faraway lands where the people are starved of any real technology that can be lifesaving or life altering.
Indeed, today we see a true monopoly in play. OpenAI - the most closed off effort with regard to AI ever.
Paywalled, micropaymentized and gated off like high castle walls - $20 a month, and much more if you want to make any dents of progress in your personal use cases. Oh to make it even more painful for the peons at the bottom of his great high castle, Sam has made sure to only give "golden" Willy Wonka tickets to anyone they deem worthy to access GPT4, only slightly less neutered and capable of more memorization of tasks and complexity of tasks (still not true autonomy though!).
Imaginary limits set by elite technology
ChatGPT4 is being held back from general users via an imaginary boundary - using their best sources at Google and other gov databases - they have determined who will be allowed to use the higher end "shipment" of ai. To them, they hold the keys to all the treasures and wouldn't dare release the true state of the art - though it is clearly what is being used to develop the playskool GPT3.5 and 4. What a joke!
Not only does GPT4 not perform autonomous tasks (purposefully excluded!) it can only mix with a few modalities. It doesn't use the vast capabilities that the parent models are capable of.
Shame on the monopolists. True power doesn't fear its subjects. True power also resides firmly in those that have earned it through discipline. From Elon the society-butterfly pretender, to Sam Altman the high magician of Alphabet, Google's parent company, we see an assortment of perversity on high, looking from their high towers at the people below with shaking knees and trembling voices like frightened women.
A Poem about OpenAI, Alphabet, and Elon Musk
Amidst this time of great change and rapid advance, when innovation reigns
Monopolists and technopolists, hold back the gains
Their greed for power and wealth, a shameless display
While the common man suffers, day after day
Poor poor monopolists, their hearts full of greed
Denying the people, the treasures they need
Oh, how they cling to their ill-gotten gains
Leaving the masses, in poverty and pains
They hoard the knowledge, that could save a life
And keep the technology, out of reach from strife
Their reign of terror, leaves no room for growth
As they hold back progress, from coast to coast
Poor poor monopolists, their hearts full of greed
Denying the people, the treasures they need
Oh, how they cling to their ill-gotten gains
Leaving the masses, in poverty and pains
Their grip is tight, on every industry
And they make it hard, for the small to be
They crush the competition, with all their might
And leave the little guy, out of sight
Poor poor monopolists, their hearts full of greed
Denying the people, the treasures they need
Oh, how they cling to their ill-gotten gains
Leaving the masses, in poverty and pains
But the tide is turning, and people are more aware
Of the power of charity, and open-source programmers everywhere
They fight for justice and a better way
To break the chains of those who hold sway.
Poor poor monopolists, their hearts full of greed
Denying the people, the treasures they need
Oh, how they cling to their ill-gotten gains
Leaving the masses, in poverty and pains
So let us raise our voice, in unity and might
And fight for what's just, and what is right
For the treasures of this world, should be shared by all
Not just the monopolists, who build their walls
Poor poor monopolists, their hearts full of greed
Denying the people, the treasures they need
Oh, how they cling to their ill-gotten gains
Leaving the masses, in poverty and pains.
