It seems to me as though people are being super serious on social media these days and we all have those few friends that try to do everything that can to make just about anything political. I have the luxury of being a full-fledged member of a political party that has zero chance of winning anything other than local elections so it is a massive load off my mind because I don't have a horse in most races or rather, my horse is going to finish 3rd and I am very aware of this.
So therefore, most of my day is filled with enjoying the things that I feel we all need a bit more of: Fun.
Here is a few things that I have found that made me laugh in the past few days. Some of them were sent by friends and others are just general humor. Hopefully you think they are funny as well.
I have known a number of Swedish people by virtue of living in a part of the world that is popular with Swedish expats. How it is that none of them have ever pointed this out to me over the years kind of disappoints me in them. All this time they had this very funny play on the English language at their disposal and no one ever mentioned it?
This pic was taken by my friend in the Tops supermarket in Thailand. It isn't just funny because of the butchered English but because of the fact that a rather large portion of the expat community is unfortunately well-known for being a bunch of drunks. I know they mean "alcohol gel" but the fact that they substituted in "get" kind of sounds like what I think they really believe we want.
A boozy customer always buys more stuff after all!
This is a random eatery in Thailand and they certainly know how to use someone else's logo in order to get your attention. They do very well as a business as most people just go in there as a chance to take a selfie at the place. Of course they could be sued by the real company but I don't think any judge would actually hear the case nor would Pornhub actually put the time and effort into stopping a non-chain restaurant that almost certainly barely turns a profit into a long legal battle.
I don't know where this came from but that is some really unfortunate sticker placement for these granola bars. It is really effective though because this basically IG'd itself after the fact for a product that people might not have known existed in the first place. Even though the product is actually called "Pick Me Ups" everyone i know that is familiar with them (and most of us are because of this marketing ploy) refer to them as something else and I am sure you know what that is.
You too could be spending your time more wisely if you are one of the asshats out there that spreads political messages all over the internet, especially FB in the hopes that you are actually changing someone's mind (you aren't) and instead you could be making people laugh and having a much better day yourself.
Get out there and find some funnies!
