I was fishing with my family at keystone lake in Oklahoma while camping one weekend, and decided to put out some Yo-Yos out in the bay on trees. I had a four man inflatable life raft, which actually was a better size for myself and only one kid to run the Yo-Yos. we did pretty well on catfish, and released some large carp, when we found one with a broken spring. When I tried to retrieve it, the lock ness monster on the other end was offended, and almost pulled me out of the boat! It was WAR, me bare handed, and the monster catfish unhappy on the other end of 100 pound nylon. This is as close as I have ever come to Noodling, as I did get my hand on his bottom jaw. While I tried to get him on a stringer (YUP, no net either, LOL) he straightened the hook that was 2 1/2 inches long, and went to tell his buddies that he had made a fool of another fisherman! So, when we were paddling back, my Daughter told me it was good he had gotten away. I asked why, and she told me we didn't have enough room in the boat. I thought about the part of Jaws where he told them "We're going to need a bigger boat"; and realized we had gotten off lucky!
Remember, the worst day fishing, is better than the best day at work!
