Before heading south you dig your feet into the mud. You draw a line with three other lines crossing it. You want to leave yourself a mark in the mud just in case you get rather lost. You want to make sure that if you cross this part of the maze again you will have some idea of where you are.
You head south down the maze and for quite a while you think you have finally found the exit. It went on and on as you would expect from a normal cave. That feeling of success however quickly faded after you started having to turn a new direction after every few steps, west, south, west, north, west, north, east, south, west, south, west, south, east, west, north.
Along the way, you ran into quite a few dead ends. After a while, you lose track of which way was which. You felt quite hopeful. Till you kept running into nothing but dead ends.
Despite how complex this part of the maze appears to be. You managed to find your way back. It seems your only option is to head north.
