With your stomach rumbling you double-check the computer's schematics of the ship to make sure it is safe to head down below to the deck where the food cube is stored. You select a path along the way where you will be able to remove panels and check the tube to see if something is blocking it.
You head down the hallway out of the mess hall. You have not been on this side of the ship in ages. You have been so focused on clearing paths and collecting what scrap of metal you could. You make a mental note that it has perhaps been far too long since you have done another general recon of the ship.
You get to the end of one hallway and turn to the next. There is a ladder not that much further that you can take down to the deck below. This is also the route the tube system runs.
You open up a wall panel to check to see if anything is blocking the tube from here. It looks clear. You put back the wall panel and continue walking along.
It feels like it has been ages since you have looked out of a window facing this side of space. You start to realize something is not quite right. Is that a blockhole?
It indeed was. You have been slowly drifting towards it while trying to reach M-HHJ-456. It was simply too small to notice the impact it was having. Now that you are closer it’s become quite apparent what has been going on.
(If you have formerly made repairs to the power systems take this option. If not proceed below.)
It is also far too late to do anything about it. The point of no return was weeks ago since your engines can not get enough power to escape due to a damaged power system. There is only one fate remaining while you waste many months and years failing to come up with a solution to escape the pull of the black hole.
