Once you arrived in the orbit of Earth the shuttle picked you up and the sample of Golden Paradox 384 you had. You said your goodbyes to the crew of Titan Class XXI before they left now being delayed on their original mission. They were however well compensated for their time by the corporation itself.
You then flew back down to earth where a small hero’s welcome was rolled out for you. For the most part, MBTX wanted to keep this a secret. Even the shuttle that took you back to Earth had no idea who you were and you were instructed to not say anything.
You then spent several months debriefing talking about every step of the journey you had. From the ship being sabotaged by Corporation C-199X. The interesting discoveries you made on your way searching for Golden Paradox 384. Everything you found on the ice planet I-IIK-9844 including the treasure trove of Golden Paradox 384 had already been extracted.
It would take some time but with the information you had given, they were able to reconstruct your journey and pinpoint the ice planet you were believed to be trapped on. While some of that information did manage to get sent back to Earth. A lot of it was corrupted like your ship files as well. This appears to have been further sabotaged by Corporation C-199X.
It was feared that Corporation C-199X might have known the location of the ice planet in question. It was later confirmed that they had yet to work out the exact source of where Golden Paradox 384 in that region of space. It turns out that with the way it decays unless you are rather close to it you can’t be certain other than a massive general area.
Ships would eventually be contracted and sent on the long journey to the ice planet. Their goal was to bring back all the refined Golden Paradox 384 that had already been processed. Along with, setting up a new mining operation and taking over the mountain itself.
The amount of energy Golden Paradox 384 provided set off a new era of innovation and discoveries. No longer would the people suffer from loss of power, not enough food production, and a forever-growing hunger to store every single piece of information and experience in massive databases that would double and then triple again in size as the virtual world expanded.
Such amount of power generation also created a lot of opportunities. Along with a lot minor factions and corporations ended up joining MBTX. As MBTX would be quite generous with its sharing of energy with those that wanted to join them.
Such massive amounts of energy were not without consequences. With now almost limitless energy production a final war between MBTX and Corporation C-199X would heat up.
Corporation C-199X tried to make the international claim that since MBTX and its allies could produce all the energy they wanted that the sun and all its energy production would belong to Corporation C-199X.
Corporation C-199X had a grand scheme to set up a Dyson sphere around the sun and collect as much energy from it as possible. That was highly unwelcome by the remaining of the planet Earth along with all the corporations that had spread to other planets in the solar system.
A massive war broke out. While a few great cities fell most of the deaths happened on the Corporation C-199X side. They were entirely wiped off the planet and anywhere else they could be hunted down and exterminated.
Earth would then go on to have many eons of prosperity and almost total peace. There would still be some outbreaks from smaller corporations and other entities that did not like MBTX.
What gave MBTX Such massive power from having vast amounts of Golden Paradox 384 would over time dry up. While some other mines were found on the ice planet itself none would yield as much as the original one did. On extreme occasions, a few tons of Golden Paradox 384 would be found as the human species spread out among the stars.
At one point even talks of resetting Earth by terraforming it and restoring the planet. Back in the day people did not need to live in domes but could once again be free to roam under the skies. That plan however fell through as power outages started to plague society again. Most escaped Earth for good.
As for yourself, you ended up relocating to Mars after that planet had been terraformed into having a livable atmosphere. You lived the life of luxury very few would ever even begin to understand let alone experience.
It was however never enough to fill a void in your heart of the family and that life you gave up in your pursuit of working for MBTX. While you were never bitter about the choices you had made. Some say you would often be found looking up at the skies on Mars during the night when you could see the Earth.
