You have looted a 10 by 10 metal sheet and start to make your way back to the ship. On the way back the alien ship starts to shake violently as a meteor shower starts to take place. While holding the metal sheet you are determined in knowing that you can use this item to repair the ship to get it back safely.
As you are about to approach the bridge connecting the two ships to get off the alien ship you raise the metal sheet to your eyes not wanting to see through the little windows of any income doom.
In doing so you don’t even notice there is a giant shadow being cast on the bridge itself. You just make it to the other side back onto your ship before a giant asteroid strikes the bridge and takes it out. Your ship while still flicking with power issues automatically seals the door behind you keeping the ship safe.
You now have to wait a moment in the airlock for pressurizing to take place before you can head back into the ship. This takes a couple of moments since the ship's energy system is not operating well.
As you look back at the connecting bridge now being destroyed. You notice the impact that caused your ship to start drifting slowly away. There will be no way to get back to the ship now. Even an EVA back there would have a low chance of making it back. Besides, you have no idea how to open a door on the outside of the other ship anyways.
You head back up to your ship's command room. In there you double-check the cameras to confirm that your ship did not suffer any other major damage. It looks like the meteor shower only hit already damaged and sealed-off sections of the ship.
ATTENTION: Oxygen leak detected. Oxygen levels are decreasing currently at 42%
While being on that other ship took quite a long time and you have lost a lot of oxygen on board since then due to the leak and the power systems having trouble keeping up with producing further oxygen from the remaining water supply.
You now need to install and wield the metal plate to the damaged portion of the ship that you can’t seal off from your current section of the ship to stop the oxygen leak.
This action will consume 10 units of oxygen from your space suit as you go on an EVA. Make sure to deduct that amount from your total. There is no going back from this point. If you do not have 10 units of oxygen remaining you need to click here to learn your fate.
You put on your space suit and lockdown the helmet which starts using oxygen. After waiting in the airlock you head out of the ship and start to make your way over to the hole that needs to be patched. Thankfully the ship still had a welding torch to perform the actions you needed.
After a short amount of time, you managed to weld the sheet of metal in place. You will need to perform an air seal test once you are back inside the ship. It however looks like you did a decent enough job you don’t think there will be any further leaking of air.
Once back inside you take off your suit and head over to the part of the ship that leaked. You prepare some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray it around where the hole used to be. For a short while everything seems to be fine. After a while however you notice lots of bubbling start to form around one of the corners where you sprayed the water.
You have a choice to make. You can either go back out in your space suit and make a quick repair further welding the one corner that is leaking a small amount of air. This action will consume 3 further oxygen from your space suit. You however don’t need to do as much welding and know exactly where to go this time around.
The other option is to do nothing. You have stopped the majority of the leak. You believe the ship is more than fine in replenishing the small amount of lost air on its own. You would rather save what remaining oxygen you have left.
