You decided to pick up the item. As soon as you do the entire ship starts to shake. The lights start to flicker on and off as if you were back in your ship. It sounded like a meteor shower was taking place.
Then out of nowhere, a glaring sound could be heard. It was nothing you could even begin to understand. There was not a single sound you could even remotely say it resembled. All you could tell is it seemed to be broken down into three different parts that kept repeating over and over.
You decided since you at least looted something off the ship it was perhaps time to leave. The last thing you needed was some kind of disaster to strike taking out either of these ships. For whatever reason, you just felt like it would be safer on your ship.
You quickly started to make your way back to the exit of the ship. Once in the corridor leading to the bridge connecting to your ship you noticed a giant shadow emerge through one of the windows. It was a giant piece of space debris. It went right through the bridge connecting the two ships destroying it.
As soon as that happened the alien ship shut the door connecting the two ships. You were now sealed inside this ship. All you could do was stand in horror as the only way off the ship back onto your own was severed forever.
You spent quite a lot of time further exploring the alien ship. It did not matter what you found or did. The ship was dead in the water, to say the least.
After several days, you gave into temptation and started to drink some brown translucent slug that poured out of a strange device on floor one. It was some kind of nutrition of what you could not tell.
While that did sustain you for quite a few years. Having more time on your hands ended up not helping at all. A few months later your ship started to drift further and further away till many years later you no longer could see it off into the distance.
This appears where your journey ends. Forever stuck on an alien ship with no way of getting off it. At least that is what you thought. Surrounded by a bunch of things that you would think to be helpful but you could never work out what they did.
Perhaps the worst of it all was the cold metal beds that you found on a few different floors. They were horrible to sleep on. After a while, you did dare to press one of the buttons on the side of it. It instantly froze you in some sort of cryogenic gel.
It never unthawed and for eons, you were trapped. Till one fatal day something massive collided with the ship. Shredding it into pieces. You floated for a while in horror that things could get even worse. Till one day you were pulled in by the gravitational force of an ice planet. You did not survive.
