You go and investigate the object that reflected light back at you. It ended up being quite a lot further off into the distance than you expected. You however were quite shocked once you got close enough to be sure it was not some a reflection of a cave wall but indeed a door.
Once you got up to the door you discovered it was not even locked and opened when you pressed on it. You almost went blind as the lights on the small building flickered on. You have been walking in the cave with just the flashlight from your wristwatch and it took a while before your eyes became adjusted to this much light again.
This looked to be some kind of out-research outpost in the middle of the caves. There were a couple of desks, some strange devices, and lots of electric paper scattered everywhere.
You picked up a couple of the pieces of paper hoping there is something other than strange symbols on them. There were no useful pictures or anything else. Just lots of strange symbols you could not decipher.
The strange devices on one of the tables seemed to change shapes at random. You went to pick one of them up and it melted passing through your hands back into the table. Where it then transformed into the shape it was in before you tried to take it.
You decided to go through some of the desks but it seems they have mostly been emptied. You did however find a Black ID card on one of the desks. You put this card in your backpack for safekeeping in the event you might need it somewhere.
After exploring the office a bit more you decided it was time to leave. It was quite strange this was in the middle of the cave system. You wish you had a better understanding of what the devices here were for let alone what any of the paper was about.
As you left the room the door closed behind you. The sound somewhat made you jump for no apparent reason. I guess being in a mostly silent cave started to play tricks on your mind.
A little bit of walking later you were back where you left off. It was time to continue exploring forward south.
