Highlights of the Consensus Event, 2018
If you missed out this year's Consensus 2018, well, don't worry we have the summary and highlights of what happened. The first one was, Twitter's CEO, Jack Dorsey wants one native currency. In his chat with "her Starkness" Elizabeth Stark, he mentioned that he eventually hopes that there will be one native currency and hopefully, it will be Bitcoin. On the second, HTC wants your phone to be powered by blockchain in their first launching of the phone called HTC Exodus. The company described it as the first native of blockchain phone and just like any previous Consensus event it is never free from trouble. What struck the attention of most people were the protesters outside the venue with the placards and all the banners shouting, bankers against Bitcoin but ironically, the group was not against cryptocurrency but they were just showing how blockchain will be of the future and what will the future issues be. But Consensus would not be Consensus if two figures were not clashing about their cryptocurrency stand and this time it was between Joe Lubin who is the founder of Consensus and Jimmy Song who is an investor of blockchain capital. What started as an interesting debate furthered into a fear discussion where they both ended up betting on the future of blockchain and lastly, who would not forget about the show-stopping end of Consensus where Snoop Dogg was brought in by Ripples Lab in an invitation-only after party to close the show. Snoop Dogg said back in 2013 that his next album would be available in Bitcoin and that's about it for our wrap up of Consensus, 2018.
