Just earned $4 of Satoshis for a data monitization ICO survey.
Interesting, but no detail of metadata for data points. Is copies of data on the blockchain efficient?
I would like to store my own data for clear legal ownership on my non cloud devices, but have the unique identifying metadata on the blockchain. Which I can decide if is viewable to be monitized (the white paper does allude to this functionality).
Payment for data use by 3rd parties is not clear. Repeating micropayments for each individual bit of data in a dataset? Royalties adjustable according to earnings by 3rd parties?
Will Facebook et al. enable Datum? Probably not as undermines their business model. Data ownership could provide minimum incomes for everyone. Big business will fight this hard. I hope Datum or other systems succeed.
