Thanks,
When I talk about the world I'm just referring to the environment around us. We may live in different places, but it's the same planet that we share. But as for solving problems in the world, I'm sorry but I disagree with your opinion. Just because something is out there doesn't mean it's impossible to change.
Say for example, if Bob said he were starving and Alice gave him some money to go eat, that's an attempt to solve a problem (it may not be a huge problem to most people in the world, but it matters to Bob). What Bob does with the money is up to him (he might spend it on food or maybe he'll just go to a bar and drink) so it might not end up being a solution, but once it's out of Alice's hands that's when there's nothing she can do (in that case she only failed to solve his problem when he's rejected her solution).
I guarantee Alice had a chance to help Bob, but maybe her problem was that she was too generous to people who she shouldn't have trusted with money. In that case maybe Bob ironically solved Alice's problem by wasting her money, she will have learned from the experience.
Is that why you say that I have no chance to solve any problems in this world? Are you my Bob (solving my problem of being overly-optimistic by discouraging such folly)? Because if so and you do succeed in that attempt then you will have proven me right by solving a problem that was out there in the world. :)
Problems don't need to be big just to be worthy of solving. But most of the smaller problems don't usually take crowdsourcing to find a solution. That's why I made Think Tank Green. I'm not trying to seek attention, or impose my thoughts and feelings on anyone. For me the website is an effort towards a goal. You may say that my goal is futile, but it's really a collection of many goals. I don't expect that every problem out there will be solved, but some of them might, and even if only one problem is solved then it will have been worthwhile. And I don't even expect to be the one who solves the problems, the whole point of Think Tank Green is that anybody can join and tell the world about their solution ideas.
In regards to the super germs here is a google search:

I'm sorry if it's a scary or uncomfortable topic, I'm not trying to disturb you. But I believe it's an important issue. Humans have been waging war against microbes for a very long time, it's only natural that the microbes would fight back.
