My name is Fil Dunsky and I am illustrator most of the time.
This is how I should start one year ago. Now my profession slowly shifted to something even more amazing and here is why.
I've registered on Steem one year ago 24th of July, 2017. Since then my life and working pattern gradually changed a lot. I am still illustrator drawing commercial orders sometimes but now I have much more freedom and can focus on the projects I am really interested on.
My first work special for Steem
My second post on Steem was a tutorial. I've spent few days creating it. Drawing step by step this cute squirell trying to explain everything in details. I thought it will get really huge amount of upvotes and will bring me a lot of money. Haha. This post got only 2 dollars that time. One freelance illustration in my style may cost 200 to 500 times more usually and here I got only $2! It was really painful but taught me a lot. Good things should be done easily and naturally without any expectations. Most genious thing done in few seconds. Great posts here on Steem as well in my case.
Make it yours
I started to be interested in crypto about a year ago. Found steemit.com, registered and gradually found myself contributing into this platform. If you don't like the place you can go away or transform it the way you would like it.
Steem blockchain is a social experiment. Users can influence on its future. Here I found eSteem Mobile application which was handy sending push notifications for comments and other events happening in my account but I was not satisfied with it's user interface and design. We had a short conversation with founder
and I've suggested some small changes to improve the look of the app.
Steem blog is a fulltime job for me now
Since that time I was contributing into eSteem project. First it was looking like freelance. I created eSteem mascot and was drawing stickers with different ocean characters you probably might seen here or in Telegram.
This become the first biggest set I ever draw. Collection of stickers which is keeping to grow. I think I've created around hundred of different illustrations with this small whale at the moment.

was supporting all my drawings and posts and I really appreciate that. I never asked him to upvote anything but he did. He just boosted my ego and gifted me the passion to keep fishing here in the Ocean of Steem blogging daily trying to catch some food. Plus bring me very good income of course.
eSteem Product Lead
After half of a year I've realised I don't have to do any freelance jobs anymore because I have my Steem Blog and asked me to join a team. I started to draw some preview cover images for
posts and started to write articles and short notes for eSteem project.
This is the job of my dream. I would not even say it's a job. Imagine you are doing just anything you want and you get paid for that? This is what happening with me here on Steem right now. I am just creating posts for my own blog and for eSteem daily. Drawing whatever I want and get very good rewards for that. And I have faith that these tokens will grow a lot in future.
Blogging, wrting articles, creating characters, drawing illustrations, doing some logo designs, designing images for post covers... all the graphics for eSteem. And now the most excited part I am working on eSteem Surfer user interface redesign. We've achieved fantastic results polishing it's UI and hopefully will show you some screens soon.

Now I even creating some educational videos on how to use eSteem Surfer desktop client. You can see them in blog or on our recent eSteem YouTube Channel. When I say "our" I really feel so. I am one of the owners of the company in some sence.
Year Stats
The more STEEM POWER you have in your wallet the more responsibility you have. More connection to the blockchain and more you care about the future of Steem. I've powered down in the beginning actually. Don't remember how much I've taken out of here. Maybe I've exchanged 500-800 STEEM but then I've bought back a lot using resources earned here only.
Current stats
- 8 850 SP + 5 053 SP delegated by
- Became a Dolphin few months ago (I can not even imagine it's possible in less than a year)
- Gained 3750+ followers (not really sure it means anything here)
- Went travelling with my wife to London for Crypto show with the help of eSteem (fully paid my trip with Steem from
)
I hope it was not boring to read and you have something meaningful to say in the comments rather than good post or thank you.
