I love the spring. It's when the warm sunshine finally arrives in Scotland, plus the sunrise and sunset times are at nice hours. The hills are covered in yellow gorse, so the air smells like coconut. Kids are still at school, meaning the landscapes are more peaceful to explore. The above photo is from the north east shore of Duddingston Loch. Perfect for unwinding walks, it's situated in the shadow of a dormant volcano and is home to a range of animals including deer and otter.
