California has its first illegal alien in state office, after Senate President pro Tem Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) appointed Lizbeth Mateo to the California Student Opportunity and Access Program Project Grant Advisory Committee.
Mateo, an attorney, was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. illegally at the age of 14 with her parents, who are also illegal aliens, according to the Sacramento Bee.
She complained that illegal aliens are not adequately represented in state government, and described her appointment as a step towards correcting that alleged injustice.
“While undocumented students have become more visible in our state, they remain underrepresented in places where decisions that affect them are being made,” Mateo said, as quoted by Fox News.
I'm guessing she's one of Obama's Dreamer children and that's why she's openly talking about being undocumented. If she's not then ICE should investigate it since she admits to breaking the law. Where are her parents now too? Surly the dream act doesn't apply to them too and if there in the US illegally then get rid of them. Back of the line you folks that sneak into the US.
Now that sounds mean but anyone that thinks there should be more illegals involved in US government is no friend of the Republic. If I go to Mexico and say on national TV that more Americans should be involved in the government down there they would deport me the next day for criticizing the government.
While we are on the subject of illegal immigration. These sanctuary cities law can easily be dealt with under the commerce clause. All you have to do is withhold transportation funds for the state of California for not complying with federal law just like back in the 1970s when the drinking age was raised to 21 a few states refused to comply and the government threaten to withhold transportation funds and that was ruled constitutional by the courts so all the states complied. It sounds like the same matter we have here only it would be the Democrat states getting pushed around by the feds this time.
