A Impala Antelope - One of 29 Antelope Species found in South Africa. (Aepyceros melampus) Photo in Dikhololo Private Game Reserve in South Africa.
This is by far the most common Antelope found in the famous Kruger National Park.
Only the males carry horns and the fight to have the privilege to lead a heard of females. They all seem to have their babies at the same time and large herds of females and young can be found in spring at the start of the rainy season.
They are medium sized and preyed upon by almost all the medium and large predators.
