Varanasi (formerly Benares), on the edge of the Ganges, in India, is a mystical city that is strongly enveloped in a mysterious aura. No other city in India is comparable to this city where the Indians make an incredible journey with their deceased in order to have them cremated on the water's edge. A city where Indians and tourists see death (corpses) several times a day. The city is smoky and smells smoke. Here are some pictures I took during my last trip to India ... priceless.
