शिवाजी को मालूम हुआ कि गुरुदेव के पेट में भारी दर्द है
वे आयेगुरुदेव को साष्टांग प्रणाम करके कहाप्रभू यह
आपको क्या हो गया। आपके बिना हमारा जीवन सूना हो जायेगा
हमारे तो प्राण आप ही है। आज्ञा कीजिए जिस दवा से आप स्वस्थ
हों। गुरुदेव ने कृपादष्टि से प्रिय शिष्य की तरफ देखा और कहा कि
शिवा शेरनी का दूध हो तो मेरा दर्द मिट सकता है, मेरा प्राण बच
सकता है । उसके बिना प्राण नहीं रह सकते हैं।'
सच्चे शिष्य शिवाजी ने कहागुरुदेव आपसे पहले हमारे प्राण
आपके चरणों में न्योछावर हो जायें, आप स्वस्थ विराजमान रहें।
आप देश के लिए वरदान रूप हैं। मैं जाता , शेरनी के दूध के लिए
बर्तन लेकर रवाना हुए। साथ में चार पांच शिष्य भी रवाना हुए।
भयंकर पहाड़ों में पहुंचे, पहाड़ के ऊपर गुफा में शेरनी व्यायी हुई थी,
वह तेज गर्जना करके मारने के लिए दौड़ी दूसरे शिष्य तो इधरउधर
भाग गये और पेड़ों पर चढ़ गये, लेकिन सच्चे वीर भक्त शिवाजी
निर्भयता पूर्वक खड़े रहे।
