Indian government to change base year for GDP, IIP

• GDP of India is continuously decreased for past quarters and now Government of India is planning to shift the base year to 2017-2018.
• Earlier, in 2015 CSO shifted base year from 2004-05 to 2011-12.
• I guess this change will also help government to show something positive in chart as the GDP and IIP is more likely to go up from where it is now.
• What government says is

Change is year is significant is capturing economic activity much away from this year in Gibson realistic number and does not capture changed economic scenario.
