Yesterday was Sri Rama Navami although some parts of India are celebrating today.
It marks the birth of Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and also on this auspicious day, lord Rama married Sita.
We visited the temple in Eastham, London yesterday and there was a religious ceremony where people get to relive the marriage of Lord Rama and Sita.
This ceremony is very famous and hundreds of thousands of people visit Bhadrachalam, a religious place in Telangana state of India. The place is among the top abodes of Lord Rama, the other places are Ayodhya and Sita Samahit Sthal (Uttar Pradesh), Sitamarhi (Bihar), Janakpurdham (Nepal), Kodandarama Temple, Vontimitta (Andhra Pradesh) and Rameswaram.
The special drink today is Panakam, a drink made from jaggery, ginger and cardamom. It is very sweet but tasty and a perfect summer beverage.
Happy Sri Rama Navami and have a great Sunday folks.
