I made a video of my very cute parrot, Neptune. I have had her now for almost 7 years. She loves my husband much more than me haha. But ever now and then she still plays with me.... she likes to do a little dance with my toes...
You can watch the full video on my husband's instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CH9qPrHDE2g/
Neptune is an Indian Ringneck Parrot. She has a pale ring on her neck and I thought in the beginning she was a male. Male Indian ringnecks have a more distinguished ring on their necks when they are adults. Neptune is a rescue parrot so I have no idea how old she is. When she laid her first egg there was no denying that Neptune is in fact Neptuna. :)
Parrots are very good at destroying things. If you have a parrot, you might also have a renovation project. Here she is destroying my book :D
The best thing about living with an IRN is that she is super cute, cuddly, and entertaining. But she is also loud and she can be aggressive. She is a rescue parrot and I believe she had a couple of homes before she came to us. Many parrots go through rehoming. They have a long life span and they are very intelligent. They need to be interacted with and unfortunately, many parrot owners end up afraid of their own parrots.
Indian ringnecks have a sensitive digestive system and since they love to chew on everything, they are often in danger of getting objects stuck in their digestive tracts. Indian Ringnecks must never be fed avocado or chocolate. They are also sensitive to heavy metal poisoning from certain toys.
I hope you enjoyed my first post on Ecency about my parrot, Neptune. She is a real darling :)
Video was made using Kizoa and the song is I will never get used to by Kelly Allyn.
